“Develop a passion for learning. If you do, you will never cease to grow.”

I started my journey with Crio a week ago. Crio Winter of Doing is a project-based learning platform and we get to learn about topics like HTML, REST, Linux etc via Bytes which are based on the documented tutorials rather than video-based tutorials and helps a learner allocate proper time to read the documentation, tutorials and follow them step by step following a learning while doing approach.

I still remember when I got my mail, stating that I have been selected for the stage 1 and I was absolutely delighted. I believe that knowledge is a wide spectrum and there’s always something new to learn, something new to explore. It was an opportunity for me to learn something new, something exciting and it has proved to be as amazing as I thought, maybe more.

It started with learning about the Internet, what HTTP is, how it works, what kind of requests are made and made us interact with awesome tools like cURL and Postman to perform HTTP requests of our own. Moving on to REST, which was completely new for me and made me learn a LOT of new things. It was fun!! Next was everyone’s favorite Linux and Git and then an amazing hands-on documentation for deploying our own app on AWS, how cool is that?

The part I like the most is that the program focusses on a concept approach. You have to have a good grasp on the concepts in order to implement them in the activities and when you have doubts, or are unable to get hold of something, you reach out of your comfort zone to interact with your peers and mentors in order to solve your problem.

I am glad to have been selected as a part of this program and am having a lot of fun attending the interactive and thoughtful sessions the mentors have planned for us and learning by doing. It is going to be a mesmerizing experience!
